Blue J allows you to switch between different tax data sources depending on the jurisdiction you want to research.
Available jurisdictions
Blue J currently supports:
- United States
- Canada
- United Kingdom
Your available options depend on your subscription.
How to change your tax data source
If you have access to multiple jurisdictions, you can switch between them directly in Blue J:
- Log in to Blue J
- Locate your current tax data source in the top-right corner
- Click the dropdown menu
- Select the jurisdiction you want to use
Your selection will apply going forward.
Important: Start a new thread after switching
After changing your tax data source, start a new thread for the change to take effect.
- Existing conversations will continue using the original jurisdiction
- New questions will use the newly selected jurisdiction
When should I change my data source?
You may want to switch jurisdictions if:
- You’re working across multiple countries
- Your answer references the wrong tax system
- You’re not seeing expected rules or sources
